Male (Father) platypus have stingers on their hind legs. To protect their family from harm. 

Platypus are the only mammals that lay eggs. Their are about the size of a grape. Also, unlike any other mammal platypus have the unique ability to sense/perceive prey under water (this is know as electroception). This is what allows the to swim with their eyes, ears and nostrils closed.

Humming Birds beat their wings 80 to 85 beats per second! Wow, that is extremely fast. Unlike most birds the Humming Bird's wings moving in a figure 8 patter (this is a pattern that looks like the number 8).

Cheetahs can run up to 70mph, but only for 60 seconds.

Tortoise can live for over 100-years.

Blue Whale

The Blue Whale is the largest know animal on our planet. They can grow to be over 100-feet long and weight

200-tons (400,000 lbs.). A Blue Whale's tongue can weigh as two cars (about 8,000 lbs.)  

Basking Shark

The Basking Shark's mouth is so large you could fit a large recliner in it. They only eat Plankton. Plankton is composed

of very small animals like shrimp, very small fish and animal eggs. Basking Sharks don't have any teeth.
